The Timothy S Y Lam Foundation & CIC Scholarship Collaboration

Alexandria, VA - The Timothy S Y Lam Foundation (TSYLF) and the Convention Industry Council (CIC) are proud to announce 22 scholarship awards for meeting professionals. These awards are valued at $9,900 and will go towards supporting hospitality professionals taking the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) exam administered by the Convention Industry Council (CIC).

“We strive to improve the quality of education for hospitality professionals,” said Foundation Director Anne Browne. “We believe that education creates opportunities and are committed to partnering with Convention Industry Council to build upon their success.”

 According to a PCMA salary survey, meeting professionals with their CMP certification make on average $9,000 more annually than those without a CMP certification. Additionally, the CMP drives professional performance and career advancement through the added level of expertise being certified provides.

“By taking clear measures to help meeting professionals who want to advance their careers, The Timothy S Y Lam Foundation is advancing the meeting profession as a whole”, says Karen Kotowski, CAE, CMP, and CEO of the Convention Industry Council. “All motivated professionals deserve opportunities to improve themselves and we are pleased that TSYLM is enabling these 22 to do so.”
